CAMPUS INTERVIEWS : SAP LABS

Campus Interviews

Part 15:

Me: Hi Samruddhi! How is the quarantine vacation going? :)

Samruddhi: Good

Me: Congratulations on getting placed in SAP Labs as a full-time employee.

Samruddhi: Thank you.

Me: How was your interview experience?

Samruddhi: It was a great experience. The interviewers were friendly. There were 4 rounds of interviews 2 Technical, 1 Managerial, and 1 HR round. In each round few selected students were sent for the next round.

Me: Could you tell us in detail about the questions that were asked in each round.

Samruddhi: Yes

          Technical Round 1:

The round started with the tell me about yourself question followed by questions on a resume, my project, and internship work.

Then there were questions on operating systems like what is virtual machine etc. and DBMS and Cloud questions.

          Technical Round 2:

This round was entirely based on data structures. I was asked to write codes for a binary tree, heap, linked list, queue, tree traversals, etc.

I was also asked about the complexity and asked to optimize some of the codes.

          Managerial Round:

In this round, I was asked about my strengths and weaknesses and the situation based questions.

Give your own opinion in such questions and stick to your answer if the interviewer tries to confuse you.

          HR Round:

This round was more like a discussion. I was asked about my hobbies, family background, internship experience.

What do you know about the company?

Why do you want to work here?

          Which is your dream job?

Me: That's really informative. Which books or websites did you refer to for your preparation?

Samruddhi: For coding test: Hackerrank, Geeks for Geeks(read interview experiences). For interview questions: refer to textbooks to get your basics clear.

Me: Okay, Any suggestions for your juniors?

Samruddhi: To get through coding tests keep practicing competitive coding questions regularly from sites like Hackerrank, Hackerearth.

For interviews be clear with your fundamentals. For data structures and algorithms practice writing code on paper and then

           try to optimize your code.

A lot of questions are asked from your resume so make sure you don’t keep any such thing on your resume which you are not confident about.

           Prepare the typical HR questions.

‘Tell me about yourself’ is the question through which you can take your interview in the direction of your areas of confidence. To answer this question carefully.

Face the interview with confidence. Keep faith in yourself!

Me: Well, thank you so much. Your suggestions are going to be beneficial for everyone who is preparing for interviews. Would you mind giving us your email ID or phone number in case people have more doubts?

Samruddhi: Yes, I'll DM my number to you.
